Official statement of the Great Secret Organization of Problems
This morning, I imagined receiving an “official” communiqué. Plain headed paper. A discreet stamp. An illegible signature. At the top, a title: “Official statement of the Great Secret Organization of Problems”.
The message is polite, yet the quiet threat is unmistakable.
“We would rather remain in the shadows. Kindly stop understanding us, naming us, mapping us. It endangers our ecosystem.”
The Great Secret Organization of Problems
And then come their conditions. They are almost comical… because they are terribly familiar.
Giving the problem a letterhead, a stamp and the tone of a legal department is already to practise the externalisation so dear to narrative therapies: the problem stops being what we are and becomes someone we can answer back to.
