Narrative approach · Encounter
This format, which I eventually came to call “Confidences de thérapeutes” (Therapist confidences), is particularly dear to my heart, and this new episode is probably the one that touched me the most.
As far back as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by stories, life narratives, the subjectivities that enrich the world and make it more poetic. This is probably a trait of our fabulating species, as Nancy Huston calls it.
As therapists, we no doubt share this infinite curiosity about others and their particular way of telling their own story. This awareness of the power of narratives — of the way they are built, nourished and transformed — is something Charlie Crettenand has placed at the very centre of their practice and, more broadly, of their way of being in the world. Let me take you to meet this extraordinary and inspiring person.
Charlie is a psychologist and psychotherapist specialised in narrative therapy, and in this interview they talk about their path, their encounter with the narrative approach, their vision of therapy and much more.
I won’t say too much, so as to leave you the pleasure of discovery, with all that curiosity that defines us. Thank you for this moment. To go further, you can also visit Charlie’s website: trame-narrative.ch.
