By leaving my salaried job, I am leaving behind part of my security and an environment I know very well. There, I accumulated a wealth of experience and knowledge, through all the people I met, my colleagues and the young people I accompanied. I also saw how much our work can be shaped by social policies and by the dominant narratives that reach us, particularly in the medico-social field.

Taking a step back, I realised that I could not have an impact on the system I was working in. The time had therefore come to change my frame of reference — a change of level, in the strong sense — and to seek to have an impact elsewhere, differently.

This decision matured after I noticed some primary prevention indicators, starting with a feeling of boredom.

In essence, resigning was the best decision for me; but the decision could just as well be to stay, and to look for levers of change within the system one belongs to. What matters is taking care of oneself, and staying attentive to the signals our body and mind send us.
