For several years now, public policies have emphasised inclusion and the place of families in the educational and care pathways of their children. Institutional philosophies, however, are not always perfectly aligned with these orientations, which can lead to more or less marked oppositions.

In parallel, we are witnessing a movement towards an “à la carte service” approach in the support offered to families, who then legitimately come to claim its concrete application — sometimes difficult to deliver on the ground for professionals facing growing constraints.

These professionals face very real challenges: constant and sometimes excessive evaluations, a quantitative logic induced by fee-for-service funding, cost rationalisation. These constraints, among others, can leave them with a sense of lost meaning in their mission, in favour of a strictly accounting-driven logic.

A continuum, from opposition to collaboration

Here we explore the continuum running from high-intensity conflict, at one end of the spectrum, to complex collaboration, towards the luminous end — passing through every intermediate stage.
