Concept · Resonance
As therapists or social workers, we can sometimes think that our emotions play tricks on us — even that they might prove an obstacle to quality support.
It is an idea that had its hour of glory and colonised the minds of a great many of us. What if I told you that our emotions can actually turn out to be powerful allies in our sessions?
Our emotions and felt experience can not only help us understand something about the people we meet; they can also prove precious within the therapeutic process itself. That is what a concept developed by Mony Elkaïm allows us to think: resonance.
I explain all of this in the episode below — in French.
