What to look for in a couple: the founding myth
Did you know that all couples, as in the great mythological narratives, are built around what therapists call a founding myth?
Four questions then arise:
- What is the founding myth in a couple?
- What function does it serve?
- What are the risks when it erodes or disappears?
- And if it is under threat, how can it be preserved?
